BLOOD OR WHISKEY

Mixing traditional Irish music with Punk Rock, Blood Or Whiskey formed in 1994 and are widely regarded as the first post - Pogues band to do so, pre-dating the current worldwide trend of Plastic Paddy Irish-infused Punk Rock. Having spent the first eight years of their existence playing every venue in Ireland, the UK and Scotland while perfecting their own unique sound, Blood or Whiskey set their sights outside the Emerald Isle and during 2004 - 2006 performed six tours in the U.S. and much of Europe.

Highlights along the way have included an East coast tour of the US with help from the Dropkick Murphys, Darkbuster, The Casualties, The Blame, Murphy’s Law, Kings of Nuthin and many others as well as an encore performance on the UK tour by legendary Clash drummer Topper Headen on BOW's cover of 'White Man in the Hammersmith Palais'.

In March 2006 Blood or Whiskey supported Irish Punk legends Stiff Little Fingers on their UK tour, tragically Tin Whistle player Alan Confrey died suddenly on the day the band came home to Dublin, it was a massive blow to the band who took time out and cancelled all other touring plans. Bass player Beano left the band and moved to Berlin last August (we wish him well in his future projects).

In October 2006 Blood Or Whiskey regrouped and with Roe from Droppin Bombs on bass completed a successful 6-week East-West coast tour of America promoting their “Cashed out on Culture “ album (Punk Core Records www.punkcore.com ) with The Briggs and Time Again.

Recording on the new album has begun with a late '07 release, plans are also now in place for another return to the US on October 25th after the band finish a month in Europe beginning on September 13th 2007...keep an eye on tour dates
